Tammy Hafer Foundation
Twenty years ago, a young girl in our community was very ill and needed a liver transplant. Our club, along with many local volunteers, established a fund in Tammy's name to help defray some of the medical expenses for her family. Tammy is now doing very well and has two children of her own. The Freeland Lions Club chose to maintain this fund, in her name, and has been able to help many families in their times of need through this special foundation.
The Tammy Hafer Fund was originated after our member, Lyle Hafer's daughter required a liver transplant. Various fundraisers were held to help with expenses and Tammy was able to benefit from our efforts and today lives a happy normal life with her husband and children.
The Freeland Lions Club is the sole contributor to the "Tammy Hafer Fund" Foundation. The Freeland Lions Club constituted the Tammy Hafer Foundation to Provide financial assistance to patients and their families, which are under duress from serious illness. We disperse thousands of dollars each year to this worthy cause. All monies raised from the Freeland Lions Club Golf Outing on June 12, 2010 will go directly to the Tammy Hafer Foundation.
Thank you for helping us with this worthy endeavor. If you have any questions regarding the Tammy Hafer Foundation, please do not hesitate to call Lion Mike Schoen, Past President @989-695-5245 or Lion Paul Rickman, Past President @ 989-798-6922.
